Drunks Poker

I don’t know about you but watching the government response to the economic crisis brings tears to my eyes. Not ones of laughter I hasten to add.

Why? Because as a taxpayer I feel as if I am watching two drunken poker players (Brown & Darling) sitting at the table late into the night slurring at the other players, “bollocks, I’m gonna double up, again…” as their “strategy” for “managing” the crisis. The most pain comes from knowing that they are doing this with money I have given them.
Needs no explanation...

Picture this as an addendum to the sight… Brown to Darling; “Al mate, lookin a bit skint here. What shall I do?”. Darling to Brown;”Nae worries, i’ll just run you off another 500 million quid. Ya should be fine for a few weeks”.

I also believe that this will take a good 3-5y to shake out if we are lucky. On the one hand the US (they sneeze and we get a cold) keeps comparing this to the Great Depression of the 1930’s yet on the other hand talk about it being a 2 year event with a very rapid rapid recovery. How does that work?

A Tory says it best in the title of her blog posting here.
